perfect for sand boxes and horse shoe pits.
Our beach sand comes from the Oregon coast with nothing added and is from approved sand removal sites (not directly from the beach). This sand is perfect for children’s play areas. Beach sand is also used in horse shoe pits and outdoor volley ball courts - anywhere you want your own private beach! Not for use around plants as the salt will kill or retard plant growth.

CloseQuarry Rock - is from a mountain. This rock is angular. It extracted from the mountain by blasting, then crushed and sized. Quarry rock can be open or contain fines. Quarry rock is used as specimens when large, or for driveways or paths when crushed and screened.
River rock - comes from a river deposit. These rocks are round from rolling down the river. River rock is dug from the ground and then screened for size. (The Bark Place does not stock crushed river rock, but can get it in 10 yard loads.)
Open - refers to a gravel that does not purposely contain fines (baby rocks). In other words - the space between the rocks is open. Open rock allows water to flow through more easily.
Minus - refers to the fines or “baby rocks” that fill up the spaces between the larger rocks. A rock is crushed and then passed over a screen with holes that allow all rocks of that size and smaller to fall through. For example, 1 inch - minus refers to rocks from 1” to dust. This type of rock packs well and is used in construction and for driveways.
